We All Have a Story to Tell by Jamie Wilkins

This is for everyone........

If you can relate please share... Even if one person gets this and chooses to change then that's what matters, so please just share... You never know who is and who ain't...

                   Let me tell you....

pain is what you'll feel

tear after tear

Same s***

different day

too long

for too many years

Eventually

I started really living out my fears

Nightmares from the past

bringing up the rear

Praying to the Lord

Praying Loud and clear

Praying to the lord

but does he even REALLY hear

They say he knows what's truly in your heart

If that's true,

why does everything always fall apart?

Wishing sometimes my soul would just depart

Or I could hit a reset button

and my life would just restart

But see, its really not that easy

That monkey on your back

will really have you acting sleazy

Moving reckless

and really acting greasy

This s*** is really real

You gotta please believe me

I done lost too much in my life

Family to friends,

even the one I posed to wife

So before it gets too late

Don't let that needle be your fate!

Learn to let go

and live that new day

I know it's going to be hard

but trust me

there IS a new way

And the hell with what people say

They haven't lived your life

for them it's easy to JUST pray

And don't worry

the real will separate itself from the fake

Apples and snakes

Venomous Envious hate

I'm trying to reach at least one you motherfuckers

before it's too late

I'm only saying all this because I know

I was really in them streets

fell victim to the blow

Reached the lowest of the lows

I was reaping what I'd sown

Left by myself all alone

Thought I could do it all on my own

Trap to trap no place to call home

Copin crack in that drug-free school zone

Back when we had pagers

before we had cell phones

I Started off payin

550 for 12 zones

To asking the plug

to please just throw me a bone

So please don't get it twisted

I'm not trying to offend

and ain't nobody out here dissin

But you don't want to be me

sitting here reminiscin

Wishing i would have just listened

And did alot more

for the one I'm sitting here missing

Too many people are out here dying

Too many families are out here crying

So if this message hits you out here

you gotta start trying

Don't do it for me

or anyone else

Dont do it for nobody

Do it for yourself

Find the ones who truly want to help

Poker face the fuck up

and play them cards you was dealt

I'm being as real as I possibly can

Cant nobody else play your hand

You gotta make a plan

If you ever plan to understand

most of my life

I've been ducking the cops

breaking the law

Grade school bags of reefer

then graduated to the raw

Blinded by the illusion I was okay with a little using

before I knew it I fell off

Knocked twice cuz some rats had to tell all

This is some real live

no jive turkey I'm trying to sell y'all

I really been to prison

locked down in a cell y'all

no money, no friends, not even my name heard at mail call....

You may think you're a plug

you may think you're the man

But

the game itself

is nothing but a scam

So take my advice

before you walk

you got to crawl

One day at a time

spring changes to summer

and eventually turns to fall

Next thing you know

you're a year in

head held high

standing tall

And I'm not trying to push religion

but open the Bible

and check out this dude named Paul

He won't so much a good guy back when they called him Saul

Blinded

God gave him sight

did it 180

he started seeing things in a whole new light

He struggled just like us

Ashes to ashes dust to dust

For REAL happiness

sobriety is a must

It's not going to come overnight

You going to have to fight to turn your wrongs to rights

Then shine with the light is brighter than bright

So please....

If you relate, take this to heart

No matter what we all deserve a fresh start!!!!

Never give up!!!!  Rest in paradise to everyone we have lost.....

I wish I could share this because I would. I love your poetry. You should publish a book but for now I have a blog where I share people’s art and I would love to share this. Is that okay with you? I don’t want this to be missed!
