Lost Love by Michael Garvey
Lost Love.
I wonder
If I'll stop wondering.
Pondering about the little things that I wish.
Thinking about our last dish
Knowing how fast it all really was.
I wonder
What it would've been like
to see that great delight.
Asking my most important question ever.
I'm glad I brought you there
To tell you of what I once planned
I'm happy to have handed you that simple ring.
Months have passed
Thoughts have last
Thinking many things
and what time brings
I wonder about
The things you have kept
The things you had wept
I should accept
For I've started leaving
somethings I have kept and
somethings that I have wept
I wonder though
Where we would've lived
Where we would've travelled
Where we would've served
Where we would've fought
Where we would've loved
Where we would've cried
Where we would've rejoiced
So I wonder
Can we forgive each other
Can we reconcile?
Can we start afresh?
Can we get along?
Can we be happy?
Can we grow together?
Can we fall in love
I really do wonder
What is Truly best
For the rest our lives
I know in the west
I've been blessed
to have had you in my life.
